How do you spell germ farm.................Mr. Biggs thats how!

What is Mr. Biggs you ask?
It's a giant building designed for fun! You can find just about everything to do inside this building. There's putt putt golf, mini grand prix racing, amusement rides, endless arcades, bowling, lazertag and more. Those are for the big kids of course, but for the little kids there's a giant portion of the building that was rebuilt and named Little Big Town. It has all of these little "shops" containing appropriate activities to do within them.

There's a car shop bakery, salon, music store, a gold mine and a ton of other things to do.

There is also the 3 level foam factory (germ factory) that has a million or so foam balls that can get thrown, launched, and sucked in every which direction. It really is a lot of fun, even for the adults. There are Cannons and guns to shoot at people below you and above you. Giant vacuum's to suck up the balls into big baskets that dump every few minutes. Pulley's to send bags filled with balls up to the upper levels and so much more! The kids have a blast and there is only one downside really, we leave covered in who knows what; things that can't even be seen, like colds, viruses, the stomach bug, snot and more. I think they should install a new ride right next to the exit......it's called a sterilizer! We all went straight home and washed like you wouldn't believe. It grosses me out to think of what was in there with all of those kids and people touching everything!!!!! Eeeewwwww.

Wordful Wednesday

I wish for this. Summer. I am so sick of the cold and wind!
Deer Creek Valley in the summer, it's beautiful and fun to hike in. The kids can't wait to get back for some exploring, wildlife watching and warm sun.

On a cold winters day..............

In my dreams I would lay in bed and watch t.v. or read a book. My kids would be content to do the same and dinner would magically prepare itself and greet me in bed. Bwaaahaahaa. That's hilarious isn't it?
No!!!! I got up at the butt crack of dawn, got the kids ready, took one of them to school (I think it was so cold this morning the clocks froze, cuz we were late), I went to the doctor, came home and cleaned while waiting for naps to finish, went to the bank and grocery store, came home and started making dinner, did laundry, blogged, cleaned some more and it's only 4:30 in the afternoon!
What's for dinner you ask? Well on a freezing ass cold day (high of 15) I made beef (stew ?) from a new recipe I came across and then I adjusted it a bit. It's the perfect comfort food!
Here you should try it one of these days....................

1 lb stew meat (already cubed)
2 cans beef broth
1 sm can tomato paste
1/2 sm. onion diced
1 garlic clove minced
1 lb sliced mushrooms
2 lg carrots, sliced
1 cup red wine
1/4 tsp marjoram
1/4 tsp thyme
salt and pepper to taste
Saute the onion in some olive oil. Dredge the meat in flour and add to the onions. Brown, adding salt and pepper to season and more oil if it starts to stick. Pour in the red wine to deglaze the pan and let cook for a minute or so. Then add 2 cans of beef broth and 3/4 of the tomato paste. Simmer for an hour (on med low) and add the carrots and mushrooms. Simmer another hour. You may tweak this recipe any way you wish. I added Acini de pepe pasta, it made a nice texture. Garnish it with Parmesan cheese and chives and enjoy!

Not a baby anymore....sniff sniff

He is my baby and always will be, but he just isn't a baby anymore! He is a beautiful little boy now and he turned the big 2 today. I can't believe how fast they grow up and it makes me sad and happy all at the same time. You weren't due until Feb. 11, 2007 (on your big brothers birthday) but you decided you were ready to come into this crazy world of ours 3 weeks early. Mommy was stubborn and didn't go to the hospital and instead went on with her day, in denial that you were really coming. I wasn't ready! When we all got to the hospital later that evening, I was dialated to a 9 and ready to push. Ooops, thank goodness you complied and came without any problems. You were a beautiful, healthy and happy boy.
Even at a week old you had your own funny personality. You love your daddy to pieces. At a year old you were the sweetest, loving little stinker that always had a huge smile on your face! Happy Birthday Riley! You have such a wonderful personality and the cutest darn smile ever. You are my cuddle bug and you can make anyone fall in love with you at any given moment. Just another heartbreaker in the making I guess! I love my little boy and just remember, you will always be my baby! We are so pround and happy to have you in our lives! Love, Mommy, Daddy, Shay and Jax.

Flashback Friday!

Shay and I went with my cousins and their kids on a scrapbooking weekend to Vail, CO in 2003. I can't believe how young we look! The kids had so much fun and it was a nice break for the moms. We got to ride the gondola all the way to the top of the mountains and go for a hike, we got to see a mama and baby black bear run through town, then we added in some shopping, scrapping and laughing! It was a great weekend and I'm so glad my Cassie came across these pictures. He was so darn cute! He still does that little smirk. Don't smile!!
This is what we look like now!
These are my cousins and I then.

Wordful Wednesday

My 32nd Birthday, one that I was not really looking forward to. My 32nd birthday, I was just fine with dinner and a game or two of pool, nothing special. My 32nd birthday ended up the best birthday ever! I walked into the bar filled with the people I love and I had no idea why they were there. I was definitely surprised! I got to visit with girlfriends!

goof around attempted to play darts but had too much to drink, and someone spilled their beer down my crack! I know it was one of these two but I'm sure they won't confess. There were a few people who were unable to make it and I wish I could have seen them. You know who you are! For those of you who are reading this, thank you! Award time

I'm so happy, I got an award. I'm not sure why though, I have been a blog slacker this month. I must be suffering from writers block and boredom! I want to thank Michaela for honoring me.

Here's how it works, list 5 obsessions and pass it onto 5 people. I think I can comply, so here goes............

I am obsessed with my sexy husband, my children, Twilight (Edward actually), Blogging and unfortunately cleaning my house. The last one is more like a must than obsession! Oh well.

I'm going to pass this on to Michelle at Girl Outnumbered go congratulate her today is her 200th post. Rebekah at Diagonally parked in a parallel universe just for having the courage to have 4 kids. Jenn at Diamonds, fur and laundry for having even more courage, she has 8 kids and just bought a fab pair of boots!!! Vodka Mom because she is hilarious and has the courage to teach all of our offspring and not kill them. Marinka because she just tells it how it is!

Thanks girls for keeping me laughing and reminding me that I am not the only one struggling with my kids! Have a great day.

Disaster in the making!

Once again we couldn't have asked for a better day here in Colorado, especially in January! It was 65 degrees and beautiful. The hubby and I decided to take the kids over to the park and let them run and play. Shay was out of school so we told him to invite his friend to come with us. Not only are there 3 different playgrounds there's also a skate park.
Shay has always been very coordinated and sports of all kinds come easily and naturally to him. I don't usually worry about him getting too hurt. I expect him to fall and have scrapes and bruises. He's a boy and it's inevitable but I have been hesitant about letting him go to the skate park in fear of him busting an arm or his head. He wears a helmet but it still scares me. I told him to be aware of the people around him because there is a big chance that they are not paying attention to him! Today was not the best of days to take him because everyone and their mother was at the freakin park! You should have seen all of the bodies flyin around that fish bowl thing. Little kids, big kids, skateboards, scooters, bikes and who knows what else were all over that skate park. I was waiting for a collision or one of my boys to get run over by one of the high teenagers. I was a wreck and couldn't watch, so we left them there to fend for themselves and took the little ones over to the playground.

I watched from afar in hopes that I wouldn't see my kids get creamed by someone. Once I was able to go over and check on them I found they had made themselves comfortable and were having fun. They did really well and no broken bones, scrapes or bruises to end the day. Watch.

Want to see what happens when it's this nice in Jan around here? LOL They all come out in swarms! Half of the time I couldn't find my kids, they just blended in with the rest of them.

Someone very special

I have had a few rough times and he has been through thick and thin with me. I thought I would write a quick post about my best friend; my husband. He is such a wonderful person and it's hard to even find the words for him. He knows me better than anyone could and I thank him for that. He knows how to make me feel better, how to make me smile, how to make me cry, how to soothe my pain and sadness, he knows how to get me excited (in more than one way), he knows how to make me angry, he knows how to calm me, he can make me laugh and giggle. He is thoughtful, helpful, loving, ornery, funny, complex, sexy, strong, brave, a wonderful father and he is all mine! I love him so much and just wanted to thank him for all that he does for me. I love you honey.

I guess it's a good thing I forgot to publish this post yesterday because now I have even more to add! He threw me a surprise Birthday party last night and I had so much fun!!! Thank you honey for giving me one of the best birthdays yet!!! I love you.

I guess he wants a bath?

I know cats are curious about the water and all but this is too funny. One of these days he is going to jump right in with the kids and I wont be the least bit surprised. He has attempted to get into the shower with me. What a strange, retarded cat!

This is as Cowboy as we get!

My grandparents started the tradition of taking me and my brother to the National Western Stock Show every year when we were little. It was something that we looked forward to doing as it was always a sort of birthday present for the both of us. Our birthdays are a week apart and it is ALWAYS in town in January, every year. As we grew older it wasn't a "cool" thing to do and my grandparents got older so we didn't go for a long time.
Well as all of you know after we have kids all of those things came back into style! I have brought back the tradition of taking my kids to the Stock Show and they love it! I think I have gone for the past 7 or 8 years now but it still isn't as fun as it was when I was little. I guess I didn't notice the crowds back then and I didn't have to pay for anything!!! Oh well, my kids love it and Jax is asking if we can go back to "that zoo" tomorrow. Maybe we will get back there next week and see the draft horse show, without the little kids, cuz you know they have the attention span of an ant.
I would love to get my kids into 4H but I dont see that happening anytime soon. I can just hear the neighbors now.......

"Jefferson County animal control, how can I help you?"

"Um yes, my next door neighbors have a pig and a cow in their back yard, is that legal?"

Like I said, The Stock Show is as "cowboy" as we get out here in the burbs!!!!

Now presenting......

After lots of twisting and turning and 5 hours of painting it is finally done. I really like my bathroom! It doesn't look like the *#@^ room anymore!!!! Go here to see that icky post. There are a lot of things that I still want to do to it but it takes time and money! I have all of the time in the world but no money, so it's gonna have to wait.
Picture this...........a new sink with a cabinet below, not pipes, and a counter that extends over the toilet to give me some more space. A full mirror in place of the dinky one and the ugly hanging storage. New light fixtures and wallpaper border that has surf boards and beach. Then I will add some accent colors in blue, beige, a little pink and light green. Can you see it? Well I can and I can't wait to get it "finished".
